2. What Data We Collect

We collect personal data that you voluntarily provide through our website forms, including: name, email address, team number and team name (for team registrations), country, phone number (for sponsor inquiries), role preferences (for volunteer applications), and any additional information you include in messages sent through our contact form.

3. How We Use Your Data

We use your personal data for the following purposes: processing event registrations (teams, volunteers, sponsors), communicating event updates and logistics, responding to your inquiries, sending event-related newsletters and announcements (with your consent), and improving the website and event experience.

4. Legal Basis for Processing (GDPR)

Under the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), we process your data based on: consent (when you submit a form or sign up for updates), contractual necessity (to process your event registration), and legitimate interest (to organize and improve the event).

5. Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal data. We may share your data with: Brevo (our email service provider, for sending event communications), and event partners or sponsors only to the extent necessary for event logistics (e.g., confirming team participation). All third-party processors are GDPR-compliant and based in or adequately protect data within the EU.

6. Data Retention

We retain your personal data for the duration needed to organize Lisbon Scrimmage 2026 and for a reasonable period afterward for follow-up communications and record-keeping. You may request deletion of your data at any time (see Section 8).

7. Data Security

We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your personal data, including encrypted connections (SSL/TLS), secure hosting, and access controls. However, no method of electronic transmission or storage is 100% secure.

8. Your Rights

Under the GDPR, you have the right to: access your personal data, rectify inaccurate data, request erasure of your data, restrict or object to processing, data portability, and withdraw consent at any time. To exercise any of these rights, contact us at info@teamthunderstrike.org. We will respond within 30 days.

You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Portuguese data protection authority (CNPD — Comissao Nacional de Protecao de Dados) at www.cnpd.pt.

9. International Transfers

As Lisbon Scrimmage welcomes teams from across the EU, some data processing may involve transfers within the European Economic Area. We do not transfer personal data outside the EEA without appropriate safeguards.

10. Children and Minors

Lisbon Scrimmage involves youth participants (typically ages 12-18). Team registrations are submitted by adult coaches or mentors. We do not knowingly collect personal data directly from minors without parental or guardian consent. If you believe a minor has provided personal data without appropriate consent, please contact us.
